Guest Writer Wednesday: Megan Slayer!

Every Wednesday at Sara Jay’s is Guest Writer Wednesday. Today we are interviewing one of my absolute favorite erotic romance writers, Megan Slayer!

Every Wednesday at Sara Jay’s is Guest Writer Wednesday. Today we are interviewing one of my absolute favorite erotic romance writers, Megan Slayer!

When she’s not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don’t seem to mind.

When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best.

Currently hanging out every Wednesday and Friday at the Menagerie Authors site, hunting Hotties for the Saturday posts, and working on the next great story brewing in her head! The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite–on command.

She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk and is published through Changeling Press, Liquid Silver Books, and Total-E-Bound Publishing.

Megan agreed to give me an exclusive interview, as well as some info on her latest book. Check it out below!

Share a little bit about your writing style. What genres and types of heroes/heroines are you attracted to? What do you love to write about?

I like my heroes to be strong, but to be able to let the heroine jump in. If he can’t work with her, then move on. My writing style reflects that. I tend not to have heroes that are so alpha they turn the heroine off. I like strong guys and equally strong women. What totally turns me off is when the woman, unless it’s par for the time period, totally giving in to the man. I don’t mean bdsm giving in, I mean the limp-wristed giving in. Drives me berserk.

So what do I love to write about? Musicians, racing stars and people in love. I’m a simple girl.

What can we expect when we experience one of your books?

Second chances in a hometown setting. Yes, I’ve got sweeping aspects to my books, but there is almost always a second chance to be had. I love to set my books in smaller towns or in cozy situations. Close knit is one of the things I love, even when the area isn’t. I have happily-ever-afters and people you could meet when you’re out and about.

Tell us a little about your latest release, or your favorite among all of your books.

My latest release is Followed. It’s the first in the Haven House Vampire series with Changeling Press. I came up with the idea for the story from a photograph given to me on a Hump Day post from Stephanie Burke. She said I had to write the story, so I did. I let the characters run and they ran far! Grin. There’s some bdsm in the story, some spanking and some hot manlove. Oh and biting. Lots of biting.

If you could have one date with a crush (before marrying your spouse if necessary!), who would it be and why? What would you do?

I have a huge crush on Jonathan Togo who played Ryan Wolfe on CSI: Miami. I’ve patterned a few heroes after him. I have no idea what we’d do…well, I’ve got a few ideas, but don’t want to get too graphic. Hee hee. But seriously, I’d probably be all fan girl, then pick his brain about the television business so I can use it for a book. I’m bad. Then I’d totally tackle him. Just sayin’.

What’s the most romantic thing someone ever did for you, or that you did for someone else?

Done for me? That would be when DH proposed. It was raining, in the parking lot of a chocolate store where we went on our first date. Not like a downpour, just lightly raining. For once, I was speechless.

I have no idea what the most romantic thing I’ve done for him would be. You’d have to ask him. When I think I’m being romantic, I end up rolling off the bed a la Cher in Clueless. Yes, it’s happened.

Share your favorite romantic or sexy song and why you love it so much.

“Putting My Misery On Display” by Gary Allan. I can’t tell you what exactly makes it so sexy, but the guitar solo is sensual and the words are so hot. I use this song to get into the mood to write the steamy scenes. Grin.
